The Planning Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing a planning and scheduling strategy, and the associated systems, for multiple facilities. This role oversees all aspects of planning and scheduling, material planning, and customer fulfillment programs across approximately five plants. This is a critical leadership position accountable for driving continuous improvement throughout planning and delivering world-class results in key metrics including On-Time Delivery, Fill Rates, Inventory Turns, Slow Moving & Obsolete Inventory, Labor Costs, and multiple other metrics related to inventory performance within the customer fulfillment function.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement comprehensive strategies for all aspects of scheduling to reduce costs, mitigate risk, shorten lead times and reduce inventories
  • Ensure that scheduling processes within supply chain is functioning properly and in a timely manner to ensure minimal delays in fulfilling customer orders
  • Influence and align cross functional stakeholders to an actionable plan for addressing and improving Customer Experience
  • Develop scheduling effectiveness metrics and report regularly on plant scheduling performance, utilizing the metrics
  • Contributes to financial performance by providing results driven leadership to the planning function
  • Human Capital Management and development of organizational capability for scheduling support
  • Continuously develops team members through active engagement, problem solving, special assignment, and continuous improvement activities
  • Build strong partnerships with IT to implement new and enhanced solutions to support SC
  • Ensure use of data and statistics to predict business results (predictive analysis)
  • Ensure safe operating environment for all areas of responsibility
  • Establish a high performance team to deliver on assigned strategies
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, Lean Manufacturing or a related field
  • MBA preferred
  • 15+ years working in a variety of roles in a manufacturing organization, including experience in some or all of these areas: Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Customer Service, Commercial Sales
  • 10+ years of experience in a leadership role
  • Prior experience leading scheduling/planning transformation is strongly preferred
  • SAP systems experience preferred
